Varezzo KVS is a 2025 gelding by Arezzo VDL, out of a Carrera x Phin Phin mare from a top show jumping dam line. In the arena, Varezzo shows three lovely gaits, lead changes in both directions and free-jumping ability. Typical for horses from his dam line, Varezzo also has a kind and calm disposition, making him a great prospect for either an amateur or a professional rider.
Based on current growth, we expect Varezzo KVS will mature to approximately 16.2 hh. He is KWPN registered and has clean X-rays on file.
Bloodline highlights:
Arezzo VDL (2005 Chin Chin x Heartbreaker) won ten international competitions during his career, including including the Odense and Vestfold Grands Prix, and the 1.50m at Helsinki and London.
The son of five generations of Grands Prix jumpers in a row, Arezzo was ranked 32 in the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH) “Top 100 Ranked Sires - Jumping” list in 2025. A few of Arezzo’s offspring are VDL Edgar M (winner, Oslo and St. Tropez Grands Prix; Tokyo Olympic competitor), Farezzo (winner, Grand Prix CSI2* of Oliva; 2nd, Donaueschingen Grand Prix) and Harwich VDL (winner, Lilleström and Arezzo Grands Prix).
Dam sire Carrera VDL was ranked 21st in the WBFSH “Top 100 Ranked Sires - Jumping” list in 2025. A Grand Prix jumper whose career was cut short by injury, Carrera’s offspring include Mister Jup (London Grand Prix winner), Carabella vd Neyen (second, Grand Prix of Mannheim and World Cup of La Coruna), Komboy (winner, Grand Prix of Zielona Gora) and Captain Morgan Weering Z (Nations Cup of Budapest winner).
Going back one generation on his dam side, grand sire Phin Phin is likewise known internationally for his sport and breeding accomplishments. Phin Phin is featured on our Sires page, as is Carrera.
Dam Rumour Has it KVS is from Holsteiner stamm 2027, a top international show jumping mare line. Read more about Holst stamm 2027 on our Mare Lines page.
Rumour’s dam is Kalipso KVS (ster, IBOP). Kalipso placed third in the GES Cup 4-Year-Olds (KWPN’s annual North American jumping competition for young horses) during her keuring year, and was jumping successfully at 1.20m (after one year in sport) at the time of her sale to junior amateur rider.
Varezzo is being offered for sale in the Canadian Warmbloods Fall Classic Breeders’ Sale. Video here on the Canadian Warmbloods YouTube channel.
