New farm!

We’ve moved! October saw us saying goodbye to our longtime home and farm outside Lethbridge, and November passed in a blur of settling 49 horses into our new build about a half-hour southwest of Calgary’s Spruce Meadows. There’s lots of reasons for our move but these photos capture some important ones: big pastures, gorgeous well-water, the rolling beauty of the Rocky Mountains’ foothills and a chance to build the equine group housing that we’ve planned for years.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, please email us or text Arie to arrange a visit. We’re available most weekdays and happy to show visitors our new farm and beautiful horses.

Room with a view

Sales horse Sambuca KVS in his paddock backing onto our west pasture. This pasture is the smallest on our new land, and will house mares and new foals in the spring and early summer.

Happy together

In our group housing, our horses spend winters in small herds, moving freely between indoor spaces (feed aisle grazing, comfortable straw bedding, and shelter from the elements) and outdoor paddocks (room for play and light movement, and views out onto their summer pastures).

Better than gold: great well water

True Pleasure KVS (2023 New Pleasure VDL x Chacoon Blue mare) and Treasure KVS (2023 Comthago VDL x Phin Phin mare) enjoying fresh well water and each other’s company in a group housing paddock.

Golden hour

Golden hour in the group housing. It’s peaceful indoors near the feed alley but both early morning and evening often feature foal zoomies in and out of the paddocks. See next picture ….

Trouble with a V

Four of our 2025 fillies (left to right, Valentina KVS, Vanilla Slice KVS, Vionna KVS and Valencia KVS) take a time out from play to consider our photographer. Note the change from our September “Introducing our 2025 foals” post to these shaggy winter coats! It’s a seasonal transformation that happens every year and yet still somehow feels like an overnight surprise.
